Aioi Bridge (T-Bridge)

T-shaped bridge that served as the aiming point for the 1945 atomic bombing.

This bridge was rebuilt postwar on the model of the one that served as the atomic bomb target, chosen for its distinctive T-shape visible from the sky. It spans the fork between the old Ota River and Motoyasu River. A history-laden site at the heart of the peace memorial.
