About

The largest gassho-zukuri house in the village, open for tours and still inhabited.

This imposing traditional farmhouse, the biggest in Shirakawa-gō, has belonged to the Wada family for generations. Visitors explore the multi-story interior, discovering old tools and massive timber frames. Part of the building remains private, as the owners still live there.
