About
Glass pyramid designed by I. M. Pei, main entrance to the Louvre museum.
Inaugurated in 1989, this glass and metal pyramid designed by architect I. M. Pei marks the Louvre entrance. Its 673 transparent panes let light into the underground hall. The modernist structure contrasts with the classical facades of the Cour Napoléon.
